Managing Director
Dr. Mehmet Ali Ak

With over 45 years of experience in exploration, business development and management in the petroleum industry, Dr. Ak joined the Petoil family as General Manager in 2001. Prior to working at Petoil, he served as Head of the Exploration Department at Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO). Between 1995 and 1998, he served on the Board of Directors of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) as Vice President, President and Past President, respectively. Dr. Ak completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geophysics at Istanbul University and obtained his PhD in the same field at Ankara University.

Commercial Director
Cüneyt Şapcıoğlu

Cüneyt has over 40 years of domestic and international experience in the oil exploration and production sector, having worked at TPAO, Shell, Perenco and TPIC as a specialist geophysicist, petroleum economist, chief geophysicist, contract negotiator and commercial affairs coordinator, respectively. He joined Petoil in 2006 and has been Commercial Director since joining. He graduated from Ege University’s Department of Geophysics in 1980 and from Hacettepe University’s Financial Research Centre Business School in 2003.

Regional Manager
Evrim Uluneye Enes

Evrim has worked at Petoil since 2005 and has 25 years of experience in the petroleum industry. Prior to joining Petoil, Evrim worked as a Project Development Engineer at TPIC where she gained academic research experience and skills while working on projects related to Iraq. Between 2019 and 2025, she served as Procurement and Coordination Manager and Regional Manager, respectively, based in the Iraq/Kurdistan region. Evrim obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 2000.

Finance and Accounting Manager
Durdana Mammadova

Durdana joined Petoil in 2007, and has over 25 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry. Prior to joining the Petoil team, Durdana worked at TPAO as a Financial Analyst. Between 1997 and 2007, Durdana worked in Baku for Chevron as a Financial Analyst, Accounting Manager, and Finance Manager. Durdana graduated with honours in 1995 from the Department of Economics and Management of the Oil and Natural Gas Industry at the State Oil Academy in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Geology and Geophysics Manager
Vedat Aydemir

Vedat joined Petoil in 2013, having worked in the petroleum industry since 1987. He began his career in 1987 at TPAO as a sedimentologist and reservoir geologist working on exploration projects. Between 1999 and 2013, he held positions at TPAO as Black Sea exploration manager, responsible for shallow sea development and deep sea exploration and drilling projects, having also been responsible for international and multidisciplinary projects. Vedat obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1982 and his Master’s degree in Geology from the University of Tulsa in 1985.

Purchasing Manager
Cevat Gökşin

Cevat has worked at Petoil since 2015, having come from TPAO where he worked as a Land and Marine Operations Drilling and Project Engineer. He gained experience as Development Manager for Turkey at Weatherford, Operations Manager at Transmark Turkey Services, and Regional Sales Manager at Cougar Drilling Solutions. Cevat obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 2001 and his Master’s degree in Business Administration (with thesis) from Ankara University in 2004.
